WhatsApp Backups Won’t Eat Into Your Google Drive Space Anymore

Google has announced that it will stop counting your WhatsApp backups on Google drive in against your storage quota. 15GB of free storage is assigned to users who sign up for Google account, but WhatApp media could lavishly consume the allocated space quickly.

Under this new agreement, Your WhatsApp backup is till accessible on your Google drive,Google Drive won’t allow them take any of your personal space. Google did point out that any WhatsApp backups that have not been updated, maximum a year will be removed from storage automatically.

This new policy will take action on November 12, 2018 though a few customers may see the quota sooner than later. To avoid backup loss, It is recommends you do your backup on or before 12th of November 2018.

Andriod users are the only one affected by this decision which means, IOS  users have nothing to worry about because their backup is stored in icloud account.
